Try www.mytoos.com
It won't present you with a pretty picture, but has a lot of good
information on living with cockatoos. I love mine, but will never own
another one. She is extremely cuddly ( read needy) and is not really
happy uhless she can be sitting in my lap or riding on my shoulder. She
has never bitten me or my husband. The hearing is gonna go. Even a
completely happy cockatoo gives a call that we refer to as the call the
flock call. Extremely loud. Make sure you have your speakers turned all
the way up at the mytoos site and you will get the idea. I actually
consider that to be one of the pleasanter sounds my bird is capapble of.
Ours is 16 years old, although she has only lived with us for about 4
1/2 of those years.
