ML> EV> Once in a while I will hear noise coming from my FireWire connected ML> EV> External WD HD I use with this XP box. ML> EV> I suppose McAfee is probably running a scan. ML>possibly... especially if it scans files when they are being accessed by ML>something... Mark, I took a look at McAfee's scan settings and saw it did a scan once a week. Being Paranoid I changed the setting to Custom - every day - when the computer wasn't being used. ML>there should be a log or at least some onscreen thing in the GUI that tells t ML>last scaned file... I do a lot of manual (1, 2, 3, etc.) file scans after I download anything, so the onscreen reading shows the last thing it has done. I have looked through the Log sometimes to see the details of any recent scan. * SLMR 2.1a #T348 * MyDog Thinks He'sHuman, ButMy Cat Thinks She's A Goddess. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux* Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 953 @PATH: 2320/105 0/0 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
