That's not entirely true, I buy a lot of stuff from China (on both
eBay and AliExpress). Most of the time it's low value stuff (£5 or
less) and that comes straight in without customs/VAT etc. but larger
items usually *do* get charged VAT etc. For example some brake disks
I bought from AliExpress had VAT charged on them, still well worth it
though.
