Crescent is a brand name for hand tools, I expect the held the patent for a
while... They call 'em Crescent spanners in New Zealand and England too

Monkey wrench or "Stilson" here.  (with teeth on the jaws jaws for gripping
pipes)  Sandvik makes a crescent spanner with a reversible jaw, one side
inclined and with teeth for gripping pipes.

I didn't know that. I thiok I've got one (crescent spanner) with Toyota
