It sounds like what you have installed is not a real network with appropriate
permission management. In that case, I must assume this is some kind of
"shoestring" operation. Sometimes a brute force, simple answer may go a long
way to help these kinds of situations. How about setting all the documents
as read-only using the dos ATTRIB command? We've done that for config.sys and
autoexec.bat on user's PCs for years and its very effective. I use it on my
own PC to prevent accidents caused by my own fat fingers.
