                    Sheriff Mack Endorsed by
          Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund
     Sheriff Richard Mack of Graham County, Arizona, has been
fighting against the unconstitutional Brady law since the day it
was signed by President Clinton.
     Sheriff Mack filed a lawsuit on February 28, 1993, and a
Federal District judge ruled Brady unconstitutional.  After
winning the lower court decision, Sheriff Mack had his case
overturned by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
last Fall.  Mack then filed for an appeal before the U.S. Supreme
Court on March 14, 1996.
     Recently, Mack's case was again thrust into the national
spotlight when the U.S. Supreme Court voted to hear Sheriff
Mack's case, along with that of Montana Sheriff Jay Printz.
     But there is the catch: Richard Mack must remain Sheriff or
his case becomes moot because of lack of standing.
     This has the anti-gun forces in Graham County and across the
country "licking their chops."  Sheriff Mack is in a tough
Democratic primary in September, and support and money is coming
in for his opponent.
     Should Mack be defeated, the court case against Brady would
be set back tremendously.  It would be difficult to make up the
lost ground.  In addition, that would send the wrong message to
other Sheriffs contemplating similar litigation against the
federal government in the future.
     In this election year, gun owners everywhere ought to view
the Graham County Sheriff race as one of the most important in
the country.  Please write Sheriff Mack and voice your support,
and help push back the handgun control crowd by contributing
financially to his campaign.
