WM> JdP> Borland's C++ compilers *do* support multi-character
WM> JdP> character literals as a language extension.
WM> No offense to Borland, but... in God's name, why?
Some languages have more than 256 characters and require
more than eight bits to handle the whole character set.
The ANSI standard actually supports a large character type.
In 5.2.1.2, it states that it is implementation defined, so
having it perform one way in a VC++ app and another in a
BC++ app is neither unusual nor unexpected.
