BL> What's the difference between a composting toilet and a deep BL> hole outside? Is the composting toilet inside? JB> The seat is, the whole ting is above ground, the compost is JB> accessed from outside. How do they get the poop from the pan to the bin? And how do they prevent the stink coming back up the hole? Bill Grimsley used to claim that he had an ancestor named WC Crapper who invented the flushing toilet. Water and the S bend is the whole secret...and if you're going to flush, why not use the standard bacteria that turn it into water rather than compost? BL> It always amuses me when they mount a satellite dish on the BL> roof, as if an extra six-metres makes any diference in 40,000 BL> km. JB> it gets the sucker out of the way, helps if you're wanting to JB> look over the top of trees etc too. Trees are mostly transparent to radio waves, in the same way that clouds are transparent to infrared. To me, the obvious place to put one of those little dishes is under the roof... but I think Yuppies like the look of them. Maybe I could sell dummy dishes (for dummmy users).
