     To what You said about competition, I wish it were so. Just after
FPW 3 was released, I met the Lead Programmer. After what You had said
about it, I tried to impress upon him the seriousness of the speed
problems. He was in total denial about it, so I threw dBASE 5.5 in his
face (I know, lucky he did not punch me). To my utter amazement, he
told me that he had never even seen dBASE 5 Windows or Visual 5.5 ! He
was pretty sure that none of his lieutenants had either, so I concluded
dBASE had ZERO impact on the Quality or Performance, + or - ,of Visual
FoxPro. By the way, He did emphatically promise me that as soon as he
got back to Redmond, they would get dB 5.5 and reanalyze the speed of
FP 3. I would like to think the results are in F5.

P. S. (In that one way, Ms. Development managers are just like the ones
       at Bl., if you raise your voice in a big room Full of Customers,
       they listen MUCH better.)
