I wish. This house has a brick foundation topped with *6x8* timbers on
which the walls are built. The floor joists are notched into the timbers.
A previous owner allowed dirt to build up to the top of the bricks on the
north and west sides, and poured a floor-level concrete porch. All of that
allowed moisture to get into and stay in those big timbers, which on the north
and west sides are badly rotten. I have the north side fixed as well as it can
be and am working on the west side. I've gone through 3 gallons of wood
preservative thus far, I wish creosote was still available 'cause it's a lot cheaper.
