NY, a freedom of speech case, in which the due process clause of the 14th Amendment was for the first time (I believe) held to incorporate some portions of the Bill of Rights. And West Virginia v. Barnette (1943) was a mixed free speech / free exercise case, arising because Seventh Adventists refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school for religious reasons.
