CJ>we have lots of fun in the Net...
Thanks Colette! We used to have a scuba diving message network
called DiveNet that was always abbreviated as DN, so I wondered
if this was the same thing.
CJ> And both Ron and myself Dive.... however we're very new and
CJ>just received our c-cards the end of March and haven't been able
CJ>to dive since... :{ mostly due to the fact that we're each others
CJ>buddies and i have a blockage in the tube in my ear... :{ hope to
CJ>be diving very soon though.... :}
You're wise to let that heal up properly. I still have a
slight ringing in one ear from a diving mishap of several
years back.
I was chasing after a grossly over-weighted student diver (25lbs
of lead on a diver weighing about 160lbs) who was plummeting for
the bottom of the ocean. When I finally caught up to him, I
grabbed the lapels of his BC, flared out my own body, and power
inflated my BC to stop his descent. Fortunately he was just
fine -- a little shaken up, but no major problems. His instructor
and I had a few words concerning diver safety following that
incident! Unfortunately, I never had the chance to equalize my
own ears, and we managed to hit about 70 fsw before I got him
under control. (Swallowing to equalize, just wasn't high on
my list of priorities under the circumstances.)
I suffered a slight trauma to my left inner ear, and still
have a "ringing" sound in there which helps me to remember
that safety *ALWAYS* comes first when planning a dive.
