Hill could quit

(11-Jul-98) - Speculation about Damon Hill's future intensified on Saturday
amid rumours that the former world champion is considering quitting the
sport unless he can get himself into a competitive car.

"I am always keeping one eye on the future and there has to be a good
reason for me to continue racing," said Hill, who has also been linked
with the new British American Racing outfit.

"The reason can only be to win. Once you have brought home enough
bacon, that alone is not sufficient motivation. I don't want to continue in
Formula One if I can't have a chance of running at the front and if I feel
I am never going to get the opportunity to do so again. If I can't see any
future with things to achieve, I might consider quitting - although it is a
little too early in the season to talk about that yet."
