MR> Lets see, since
MR> you are fmro the area i am fmor, you may or may not of heard abotu
MR> this, last summer a 1979 Pontaic Firebird 6.6 V-8 was speeding
MR> at a 135 through the back roads of Hidenwood, the responding officer
MR> instead of puting other people at risk and speeding after him, let
MR> the driver of the firebird do his think, 1/2 hour later the same
MR> officer drove around the neighboorhood to find the Firebird parked in
MR> someone yard where the officer went and gave the man a ticket and had
MR> his license suspended for 6 months. This was an alternative that not
MR> many officers would have taken as oppossed to building up their ego
MR> and trying to chase the car down
Actually, there is an opposite concept that makes more sense. The reckless
driver was giving no warning of his approach. He is putting people at risk
with or without the police trying to stop him. If an officer tries to stop
him, there is at least flashing lights and a siren to give some warning of a
dangerous situation and give innocents a chance to get out of the idiot's
way. There is more than one reason for the emergency equipment on a police
car.
