We are still able to buy Crown Vics this year, but you are right, the future
is not good for full-size police cars. This causes a big problem for prisoner
transport, etc. We are already looking at alternate vehicles that may be
built with police packages. The GMC Taho is one. We are studying the
practicality of that now.
If we are forced to go to the much smaller vehicles, it will mean a lot of
inconvenience and down time for us, at least here. We would have to consider
special transport vehicles for prisoners, maybe something like a full-size
van with the interior stripped out and fitted for transport. Who knows, the
Crown Vic may be around longer. We've heard now for 2 years that it would be
discontinued, but we are still buying them.
