Only in the USA will you find people who insist miles, feet, quarts,
ounces, pounds and ounces (a different "ounce") are easier than kilometers,
meters, liters, milliliters, kilograms and grams.  

Additionally, the US often refuses to post distances or weight in metric in
addition to what we normally use. I guess the are afraid the kilometer and
kilograms would confuse the limited mentality of some people.

While I'm ranting, I will also complain about Canadiens who "help" by
trying to translate measurements into our system. I just end up translating
them back to metric so they match the signs along the road or in the
stores.
