Did anyone take the time to download the YouTube video of the NASA robot
called Robonaut? It is a 72.8 MB mp4 file.

What most amazed me about the robot is its level of dexterity. It handled
the piece of cloth -- or whatever it was moving -- and what appeared to be a
manila envelope, very gently, just as a human would do, without putting too
much pressure on the objects.

Later on in the video, you see the robot performing a coordination/touch
test where it touches the tip of each finger to its thumb. Again, I was
impressed by the exactitude of this exercise. They must use some very
advanced algorithms to get such human-like responses from it, with such
mechanical accuracy.

On a side note, I couldn't help but think how easy it would be to fake an
alien invasion from Outer Space, using such technology. Throw a rubber suit
on one of those machines, and it would appear very convincing to the casual
observer, I think.
