The UP X9000 (or is it 9000X?) was, IIRC, a 4-10-2 three cylinder
locomotive. The 3rd cylinder was connected by a crankshaft to the 2nd driver
axle. The linkages that allow the 3rd cylinder to operate would be
interesting to see, IMO. Somebody else (SP?) had a 4-12-2 that was also 3
cylinders. They may also have one of those at the Fiarplex; memory's getting
a little hazy about what all they have there.
