I still haven't gone car shopping, but will look at those when I do. In
the meantime, I think the lower ball joints on my Lincoln need replacing
because they put up a fuss whenever the steering wheel is turned -- at
least that's what my daughter's mechanic/husband told me. I think it's the
rack and pinion steering assembly. A pity that can't be lubricated. We
could both be right.

I recall when the electric motor for the radiator cooling fan seized up.
The Lincoln dealers can't sell it without the fan and shroud, but we found
one at a parts house at a very reasonable price. There is no more
repairing. We have become a replacement society.

I still have 103 miles worth of gas left in my Lincoln and I can run on
that for a long time even if it's all city driving. I wish we could
enjoy(!) the prices at the punp you're paying. The pumps here don't crash.
They either accept your card or don't, in which case you have to go into
the office and tell them to stop the pump at 10 gallons. At some places
here, they can't compute and suggest $10 worth of gas. I snicker to myself
and agree. (-:[

RW> Maybe there's hope yet for under $2/gal...

I don't think it will show up here, but one NEVER knows.
