Hi Lee--

If you are really desperate, you can try amazon.com and let them
look for the two out-of-print books from commercial publishers. You
might be horribly surprised when you find out how much they will charge
you for them if found, but they will look for them. (I once found an
out-of-print book on Indian (from India) dance techniques, through
amazon.com.) You get a chance to refuse the offer if they find it and
you decide it isn't worth it.

The IBM reference cam be found as an .INF file on early DevCon
CDROMS. You might try an e-mail request to devcon@us.ibm.com, or try a
search in the "guest" section of the DevCon Web site. You might also
try IBM publications (1-800-879-2795 in the US). It is highly unlikely
that any of the commercial Web sites have even heard of it, since
"normal" booksellers never carried early IBM manuals.

The only reason to play with the 16-bit OS/2 Family API functions is
to write dual-mode programs that will run under both DOS and OS/2 (and
under Win3x), which must be linked with BIND.EXE. I have grave doubts
that you can play the "bound" EXE game from any version of Pascal. The
necessary linker (BIND.EXE) was distributed only (AFAIK) with MS MASM
5.0, MS C 5.0, and OS/2 1.x. You would also need a Pascal compiler that
will run under (and produce object code for) the 16-bit versions of
OS/2. However, I have been wrong before, so you might keep trying :-)

    Good luck,

        --Murray
