-=> Quoting Ray Rooney to Guy Putnam <=-
RR> In terms of our rights this may be the most
RR> important election of our
RR> lifetimes. If we back candidates the general
RR> public will never back we
RR> might as well vote for cartoon characters.
GP> This _is_ going to be the most important election,
GP> ever. Gun owners must
GP> strike a decisive blow for victory, _now_. Voting
GP> for an anti-gun, oath-
GP> breaking criminal Fascist, such as Dole, isn't exactly my idea of a
GP> "decisive blow," if you know what I mean . . . . .
RR> Oh, I see, and voting for a candidate who could only win in a fantasy
RR> world is?
That all depends on how many gun owners vote anti-gun with their head up a
Fascist fantasy.
RR> A vote for _anyone_ without a good chance of winning is the same as
RR> staying home and blowing soap bubbles. Amusing but ineffective. It
RR> denies a real opponent a much-needed vote . . .
I'm afraid I don't consider a Fascist anti-gunner to be a "real" opponent
at all. Anti-gunners might . . . .
RR> . . .and assures the other side that they face no real threat.
Consistently voting for anti-gunners for president, on an ongoing basis, is
what assures the Fascists that they face no real threat. How are they
going to feel any threat at all as long as _they_ play your vote by scaring
you and other gun owners into voting anti-gun.
RR> Wow, what a decisive blow that is.
Voting for the anti-gun candidates they offer you surely isn't a decisive
blow. Its aiding & abetting.
RR> As to feeling good because you didn't help the lesser of two evils get
RR> a chance, I'm sure that the people in the gulags were greatly
RR> comforted by the thought that they hadn't elected Stalin.
They didn't feel any better in the Nazi camps, & they did elect Hitler.
RR> Anyone who throws away a chance to slow the juggernaut is guilty of
RR> allowing it to succeed.
Those who oppose it with their vote are not guilty of allowing it to
succeed. Riding the juggernaut, regardless of how slow it goes, is going
to get you there!
RR> If Clinton gets back in he will have no reason
RR> to hold back.
Dole didn't have any reason to hold back on the magazine ban, the Brady
Bill, the Terror Bill, NAFTA or GATT . . . because he knew that even though
he made sure you can't buy anymore magazines & have to wait on your
pistols, that you would vote for him anyway. He was right! Once he sees
you all vote for him after what he's done, he will have no reason to hold
back, either, will he?
RR> He'll be a lame duck and crow about his "mandate" to do
RR> more.
So what was your argument for voting for Bush, after he fininshed banning
your imported infantry rifles? Klinton wasn't lame duck then. Is it just
me that's angry that I can't buy HK91s, FALs, etc. at a reasonable price
anymore?
RR> Worse, he will undoubedly have a coat-tail effect if he
RR> succeeds. When the Dems get back at the wheel they will undo
RR> everything that has so far been won.
Nothing has been "won" . . . .
RR> Is that what you want? Well, that's what will happen if people vote
RR> for invisible candidates.
RR> We shook the country two years ago by showing that senators and
RR> congressmen who trample our rights become EX-senators and
RR> EX-congressmen.
98 Senators voted for the "Crime" Bill. Most are still there. If this
fact doesn't demonstrate to you that both factions of the DemoPublicans are
Fascist, what will it take? For President Dole to personally authorize a
squad of APC's to your house to take your guns?
RR> To win this time we have to continue that and show
RR> that it applies to the guy on Pennsylvania Avenue, too.
So you are going to "show them" by helping to place another anti-gunner
there?!
RR> And it may buy us a couple of years to enlighten more of the public
RR> and gain a better victory down the road.
If gunowners can't grow the balls to stop voting for anti-gunners, so there
isn't going to be any "victory down the road." Notice that its always
"down the road," but just this last time, lets vote anti-gun again. _This_
time its just so "important" that I have to vote anti-gun, again!
Meanwhile, what will we loose next? An ammo ban? If you ever want to vote
for a pro-gun president, you had better do it now. There may not be any
more elections . . . .
