I rinse mine.  If you really, really want to get the cup clean, it should
be soaked in a solution of hot water and vinegar.  Then when you have your
first cup the next morning, be sure to be holding a hand mirror so you can
watch your mouth screw up.  (-:

There is that.  I put mine the same way after rinsing in plain water to
keep out dust and dead skin.
