        I must disagree.  I believe you're outsmarting yourself by
figuring all the "angles" to this and that, and by casting your vote to
THIS candidate when you really wanted THAT one to win...but you figure
"he'll never have a chance", so I'll vote for THAT one and blah,
blah, blah...
        I use my vote for the reason it was given to me...to vote for
the person I want to see elected.  Period.  If he wins, great.  If he
doesn't, and only gets 2% of the vote, then I'll try again next time.
At least people will see he DOES have some supporters, and maybe next
time, they'll vote for him too...your way, nothing ever changes.
        If, as you suggest, I throw my vote away by voting for
someone I don't really believe in, and don't really support, then, as
you say, I SHOULD have stayed home and played with soap bubbles -
because, then, I really have, wasted one precious vote...mine.
