Go into the network settings panel. Make sure
- that both computers have the same WORKGROUP name
- that you've specified yes to "share drives and printers"
- that you've specified a drive or subdirectory on each machine as a 'share'.
If I remember right, you define shares in File Manager.
If sharing is not enabled and no resources are marked as shares, the machine 
you're on won't be able to 'see' the other one.
