HI Bob
BD> LOL! Idle time is neutral. It's "wasted time" you must me thinking
BD> about! When I type here it isn't always with the conscious awareness
BD> it might always be taken seriously!

I don't tend to take anyone or anything too seriously :)
By your definition, I seem to have lots of idle time (which I fill
with my camera or computer) but only others could claim I waste time.
I don't think I waste time if I'm enjoying myself :)
KW> As for male bashing.....I'm more likely to female bash. All my best
 KW> friends have been male.
 BD> Like this, for example!
BD> My remark was intended to be good natured teasing, all the way.
BD> Forgive me for making it sound like a feud was taking place. ;^)

It takes two to feud, and I'm not easily led that way. You will have
to excuse the occasional lack of a smily. I over use them as it is :)
KW> Then why does my husband always tell about to be bridegrooms
KW> that it was the best thing he ever did?
BD> Now, without thinking, I'd have said something like, "Brownie
BD> Points?" See what I mean?

But I am seldom around when he says it, so he must be sincere :)
KW> assuming of course that it is he who will do all the actual
BD> painting before you `let him' turn up the earth..

KW> Wow. You just live in a different world, Bob.
BD> That, too, was not in the least serious though I've always been in
BD> a "different world," or so I hear! Hehhehheh

I assure you, I know you are just funning with me
BD> Not taking issue with your reply, which I found interesting, but
BD> the basis of the world today seems more founded upon money than
 BD> anything else.

This is true. And quite a shame.
KW> I wrote a correspondent column on a volunteer basis, but someone
KW> [asked] ask me to write a weekly column.. and pay me.
 BD> Gotcha!

It was offered, not asked for. I would never insult someone by turning
down their generosity :)
BD> I'm not "up" on current disciplines, by any means, but have an
BD> idea what you are doing. It fell my lot to do some hand to hand
BD> training during the Korean period, on Marine troop replacements,
BD> and later got involved in Aikido(?) thru a local friend who was
BD> stationed at Barksdale AFB (across the river from Shreveport)..

Aikido is quite facinating. Tai Chi is similar, though my class
participates more for the relaxation aspects than the martial arts.
I should take the video camera in there one of these days :)
KW> .. My son did ask me a couple of times to leave him out of it

KW> My husband ended up in one of them too. Not my fault he decided
KW> to fix the plumbing on a Sunday.. that's what happens when you
KW> let the wrong kind of professional do the job :)
 BD> ROTFLOL

I should have taken a picture of that to add to the one I took of him
dismantling a Christmas tree. He got tree trimmers as a gift and since
we use a real tree at Christmas time, he decided to try them out. He
cut every branch off, right there in my living room. Then he was
embarrassed to put the dismantled tree out for pick up and hid it in
the garage until spring time, when he could take it to the dump himself.
BD> Knew it!!! ;^) So, do some pictures to supplement the novel and go
 BD> for it!
Publishing companies like to hire artists and photographers separately
from writers, as far as I can tell. Besides, since when do novels have
photographs? Maybe I should go back to magazine articles. I could
combine the two there :)
... So easy, a child could do it. Child sold separately.
