Hi Barbara! I know you probably haven't had a chance to see a copy of
the echo rules float by yet; they are posted the first part of every
month. Our advertising rules allow one "for sale" ad per user per
calendar month, and they do require that all ads be accompanied by a
voice telephone number for interested parties to respond. (This rule
will shortly be amended to allow responses via Internet private e-mail).
The reason for this rule is that Fido is carried out of the goodness of
the hearts of the sysops, and is usually free access to the users. The
sysops pay for the phone bills to send messages around the world. The
Fido sysops don't benefit from deals made on the echoes they carry, so
they shouldn't have to pay to make the calls to transmit those deals.
So, in short, could you please post a voice phone number and/or Internet
private address for anyone who is interested? Thanks.
