Jordan praises Ralf Schumacher

(13-Jul-98) - Eddie Jordan finally had something to smile about at
Silverstone on Sunday when his German driver Ralf Schumacher scored the
team's first points of the year.

Schumacher put in a charging drive, climbing from last but one to take the
final point on a day when many experienced drivers fell foul of the
conditions -- including team-mate Damon Hill.

"It's a big relief but it should have happened a long time ago,"
said Jordan. "It was a great drive by Ralf to go from 21st to 6th in
very difficult conditions. He made no mistakes and I am very excited for
him. It should be a turning point, and has to be, because it has been a
difficult start to the season."

Schumacher added: "We have waited so long for points that it almost
feels like a win today. I think the first points are the hardest to win, so
from now on I hope we can get more and more."

"I had the best start I think I have ever had in Formula One and a
good first lap. After that, it was a nice drive. I counted each lap and
they felt very long, but I did it!"
