Yeah, Joe, but wasn't that the religion that involved the sacrifice of
the chicken and sex with a female goat?
Has anyone ever come out and said that individual rights must suffer
as people become more and more crowded together? It's much easier to
maintain individual rights in a small town in Montana or Nevada than
in Los Angeles or New York City. Denser and denser populations
require more and more restrictive rules to protect the few rights
remaining.
Example: You have a god-given right to play country-western music on
your radio at full volume. I have a god-given right not to listen to
that crap. If you and your radio are within earshot of me, one of us
must give up our right, as in "You gonna turn off that radio or is
this .44 Magnum gonna go off in your face?".
You mention practicing your religion, can't you conceive of a
situation where practicing your religion would be offensive to someone
else?
We have a lot of problems today, pollution, depleting natural
resources, erosion of individual rights, etc. that really aren't
problems at all, they are *symptoms* of THE problem, which is over
population.
Just my $0.02 worth.....
