Hi All,
I run my 73 Rickenbacker 4001S bass in stereo mode into separate 31
band EQ's so I can tweak the sound of each pickup. I am using a old GMT
300B (early Galien Krueger from 76) as my bass preamp and it has two
inputs, bright and normal. The neck pickup plugs into the normal input
and the bridge pickup plugs into the bright input. I get a great sound
this way but after all these years I am worried about the stage
reliability of the GMT preamp because a service tech told me I have a
cracked circuit board. The newer Galien Krueger's, and most bass
preamps only have one input, or if duel inputs exist they are passive /
active imputs. What is the best (hopefully cheap) way to recombine the
2 outputs from the 31 band EQ's into a single mono signal so I can use
the newer models of preamps with a single input? I haven't tried it,
but somehow I don't think a simple y adapter is a good idea, but I
could be wrong, and I just wanted some other ideas.
