Herbert disappointed with Friday performance

(10-Jul-98) - Johnny Herbert has endured a difficult time during untimed
practice for Suday's British Grand Prix.

The Sauber driver suffered from poor handling in the first of the day's two
sessions. Then a hydraulic pump failure stymied his chances in the second
session.

"This morning the car felt much more nervous than it had in the test
at Silverstone," said Herbert. "The rear end was snappy in the
slow to medium corners, and there was too much oversteer for my liking in
the quick ones."

Herbert has only managed to go 11th fastest, with team-mate Jean Alesi in
12th place on the timesheets.
