LIES AND WAR CRIMINALS
FALSE PRETEXTS FOR WAR

As President Bush engages in meetings with leaders of the G8 in 
Europe, one can not escape the obvious tenseness between Bush and 
most of the leaders attending the economic summit. As information 
continues to be revealed on the obvious lies and abuses the Bush 
government instigated on the American people and the world concerning 
the reasons for the illegal invasion of Iraq, many in the world are 
rightfully concluding that Bush and many in his administration have 
turned out to be similar in many ways to that evil dictator Saddam 
Hussein. Like it or not, according to international laws created after 
WWII, and according to American constitutional laws, George Bush is a 
war criminal, he is also now a mass murderer, and an oppressor of a 
people that never had anything to do with violence against Americans.  

Of course the mass media within this country presents an entirely 
different picture of the President; he is the pious liberator of the 
oppressed with the God given mandate to bring freedom and democracy 
to the world even if he has to destroy it first. The world sees it 
differently, and many leaders that supported the Bush clan's rape of 
Iraq are in political hot water as the truth is now being revealed 
on how the Bush government hood winked many to the perceived dangers 
posed by Iraq and their development of WMD's.  

And leading neocons are not helping themselves much; Deputy Defense 
Secretary Paul Wolfowitz cited bureaucratic reasons for focusing on 
Saddam's alleged arsenal in an interview he gave to Vanity Fair where 
he cited the reasons for focusing on Iraq's WMD's, - ''For bureaucratic 
reasons we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction, 
because it was the one reason everyone could agree on.'' According to 
one of the leading neocons it was the matter of political expediency to 
focus on WMD's that would gain support for war even when there was 
no legitimate intelligence to support the neocons contention that 
Saddam and his WMD's posed a direct immediate threat to the security 
of the United States. The policy of preemption therefore was never 
predicated on actual military threats posed by rouge regimes but rather 
it was entirely copulative on ideological grounds for the augmentation 
of American preponderance concocted in neocon think tanks many years ago.  

US Secretary of State Colin Powell is quoted as saying that - "I'm not 
reading this. This is bullshit," when asked to read a draft to the United 
Nations prepared by Vice President Richard Cheney's chief of staff, 
Lewis "Scooter" Libby, in late January. According to this report, Powell 
was under constant pressure by the White House and Pentagon to 
include dubious intelligence in his address to the United Nations. 
As it turned out, Powell's presentation of alleged Iraqi WMD's has been 
proved to be plagiaristic and unsubstantiated. Also, Secretary of State 
Colin Powell and his British counterpart Foreign Secretary Jack Straw 
expressed concern to each other on the quality of intelligence they were 
receiving and that it did not back up what their leaders were saying 
publicly. As we are now seeing presently in Iraq, it was all contrived; 
there never was any Iraqi WMD's or any Iraqi capability to deliver them 
on targeted cities.  

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw did the honorable thing and quit as chief 
of the House and Commons and Blair cabinet in protest to the illegality 
and fabrications that the British government was engaged in. This 
speaks volumes in how Straw's American counterpart US Secretary of 
State Colin Powell could choose to knowingly flat out lie to the 
American people instead of doing the right thing and resign from the 
Bush regime.  

Then there is the obnoxious Defense Secretary Donald "boom boom" 
Rumsfeld, who suggested this week that Saddam might have destroyed 
his banned weapons before the war began. If that is the case, then the 
inspections were working and that the Iraqis were indeed complying with 
UN resolutions and that there was no legitimate cause for an invasion 
that cost thousands of lives. Clearly, the war on Iraq was conducted 
under false pretexts which now legitimately depict President Bush and 
his administration as nothing more than war mongering criminals. 
Unfortunately, they will never be held accountable for their criminality, 
one of the rewards of being the victor and the leaders of the last 
remaining super power (empire) which gives itself complete immunity to 
their criminal activities, and that the Bush clan is well poised to do 
it all over again against other targeted nations is self-evident, and one 
wonders if the world will continue to stand by and see another country 
destroyed for its own good.  

All the lies that the Bush administration spun against Iraq had 
convinced many in the United States that there indeed was a threat by 
Iraq's WMD's, so much so that top U.S. military commanders in Iraq 
are expressing a remarkably reserved surprise at their failure to find 
those pesky WMD's. Lt. Gen. James Conway, commander of the 1st 
Marine Expeditionary Force in an interview Friday said that he is 
"surprised that extensive searches have failed so far to discover any of 
the chemical weapons that American intelligence had indicated were 
supplied to front line Iraqi forces at the outset of the war." "It was 
a surprise to me then, it remains a surprise to me now, that we have 
not uncovered weapons, as you say, in some of the forward dispersal 
sites," he told reporters at the Pentagon. "Believe me; it's not for 
lack of trying." "We've been to virtually every ammunition supply point 
between the Kuwaiti border and Baghdad, but they're simply not there."  

Also, confirmation from Australian intelligence services on how 
Australia's spies knew the United States was lying about Iraq's WMD 
program. The article written by Andrew Wilkie titled "A lack of 
intelligence" where he describes - "US intelligence on Iraq was badly 
skewed by political pressure, worst-case analysis and a stream of 
garbage-grade intelligence concocted by Iraqis desperate for US 
intervention in Iraq. It wasn't just the Australians who were mystified 
by the accumulating US trash. The French, Germans and Russians had 
long before refused to be persuaded by Washington's line."

Things are starting to heat up at the Pentagon where a growing number 
of National Security professionals are accusing the Bush clan of 
embellishing on some so called facts and "hijacking" the intelligence 
services to justify the neocons invasion of Iraq. These are serious 
issues that must be investigated. Those that perpetrated one of the 
biggest hoaxes in the last century must be brought to justice; otherwise 
we must conclude that we do not live in a society where the rule of law 
is applied to everyone equally under this nation's constitution.
