Reading involves not just parroting, but also comprehension.
E.g.:

> Don't you know what "Late Republic" means?

Don't you know "before" means?  If someone tells you
that they'll arrive "before 6:00" do you take that
to mean that they're saying "at 5:00".  And if they
show up at 4:00, do you throw one of your hissing and
spitting fits because they "lied" to you?  (These are
rhtorical questions.  We all know the answer.)
