Ralf has fingers crossed for Damon

(10-Jul-98) - Ralf Schumacher believes he and team-mate Damon Hill are now
ready to turn around Jordan's miserable first half of the season and race
to points in Sunday's British Grand Prix.

The younger brother of world champion Michael, who has outqualified Hill
five times so far this year, told autosportmag.com that it had been a
difficult start to the year but changes to the car and team structure
should help things cannot.

"I cannot be happy with the results from the first half of the year,
because we expected more points and I certainly wanted to see the chequered
flag more often," he said. "But because of technical problems and
mistakes of my own, that hasn't been possible.

"But with this being Damon's home Grand Prix, and the modifications to
the car and the addition of Mike Gascoyne, I am hopeful the team can do a
good here. I particularly want Damon to get to the finish in the points.

"That would be great, especially here, because the Jordan factory is
so close to the track."

Schumacher also believes that he has banished the problems with his starts
thanks to a new clutch fitted to the Jordan car.

"My main problem was the clutch because I couldn't find the correct
feeling for it," he said. "But after the team changed it things
have been better. In Magny Cours I did two good starts and I optimistic
that there will be no more problems."
