true story:

When I was about 15 or 16 my mom had a ruptured disk and since in those
days they treated that with bed rest we had a rented hospital bed for her
with a traction setup.  I brought home a guy I was dating and introduced
them.  She looks up at him and says, "What did you say your name
was?"  He tells her.  She says, "What was it before you changed
it?"  At this point I'm wishing I could disappear.  He tells her the
previous name.  Blabla, she dated his father 40 years before in Brooklyn! 
Later she found an old photo and showed it to me and in fact there was a
strong resemblance.
