Williams Zanardi link

(10-Jul-98) - Alex Zanardi could have signed a two-year deal with Williams
according to pit-lane speculation.

Rumours at this weekend's British Grand Prix were rife suggesting that the
reigning CART champion and former Lotus Formula One driver could be making
a return to the grid next season.

The Italian had previously been linked to British American Racing who are
to make their debut in '99 but had said that he would only return to
Formula One if he could guarantee a competitive drive.

Frank Williams is believed to have made an ultimatum to Jacques Villeneuve
to decide on his future soon. Drivers in the frame to replace him should he
decide to go include Williams' tester Juan Pablo Montoya and Johnny Herbert
who could be reunited with his former Lotus team-mate, Alex Zanardi.
