RM> Which reminds me - did you consider a built in vacuum cleaner? RM> I saw a buy-me on tv the other day that nearly converted me. RM> There are two main pluses: (a) the hose connected to the bits RM> you push around is big, 9 metres long (according to RM> them...)(and I dunno where it gets stored when not in use) so RM> not many wall/floor outlets are needed, and (b) the exhaust is RM> not inside the house, so the superfine grot that actually gets RM> through doesn't stay inside the house or in the lungs of the RM> occupants. My brother installed one of those when he built his house. It's a bewdy! RM> My main objection is to the maintenance of the pipes. I have a RM> 4 inch pvc pipe from the clothes drier to the laundry window, RM> and the fluff that accumulates inside it would keep a medium RM> sized brothel running. John has never mentioned problems with the pipes clogging. A normal vacuum cleaner pipe doesn't clog... Laundry dryers are notorious for fluff. You should use a steel pipe not plastic because it sometimes catches fire. There's supposed to be a metal filter ahead of the pipe in the machine itself...
