But Tim, there are "miracles" and then there are
"miracles."  In the
context of the Apostolic church, miracles were both immediate and
mediate.  They were immediate as illustrated in physical healings.  It
wasn't like the word is used to day to illustrate someone who is
recovering from cancer surgery.  It is also mediate in that it was a
"sign" to authenticate God's adoption of the Gentiles into His economy
of the Church, or the Bride of Christ.

Certainly there are great graces given to many people today, but that
is a far cry from the biblical usuage of the word, "miracle."
