PMFBI...
You'll need some kind of peer-to-peer networking software for DOS. I can
think of at least four alternatives:
* Microsoft network drivers (the same you used with WfW).
Advantages: Very easy to set up. Multiprotocol support.
Disadvantages: It's a memory hog.
* NetWare Lite.
Advantages: Built around IPX (great for games), available at
no cost with OpenDOS (for personal use).
Disadvantages: ??? (I haven't used it myself). I don't know if
Caldera or anybody else will develop it further.
* Lantastic.
Advantages: Easy to set up. Reliable.
Disadvantages: Discontinued. Based around NetBIOS (no IPX).
* Little Big LAN.
Advantages: Cheap, flexible, modest memory requirements. Can
co-exist with IPX.
Disadvantages: Can be rather difficult to install/set up.
Just my two cents...
