Hi, i'd like to use linux for a small lan server i'll be setting up, but my
experience with it is almost nothing, so i was wondering what distribution i
should use.
The system it will be running on is a 386 DX40 with 4 megs ram (i CAN put
more if it really needs it, but 4 was all i had laying around, along with a
handful of 256k's :) ), but not sure of the hard drive yet - maybe 100 megs?
and probably MFM =)
the network will be between that system, and an os/2 warp connect 3, and
win95 system, as well as another one that will be either win95, or dos (it's
broken, hard drive is in on warrenty, once it comes back, i haven't decided
what to use yet).
The server will probably also function as a print server, with 2-3 printers
(probably only two, as i now have two proprinters (one II and one XL) and an
epson stylus color.. i'd like to at least have the epson, and then maybe the
XL.
For software, i've been reccomended to use Sambia as the server.
So which version should i be looking at, in the way of ease of use (for
basically a complete novice to *nx), but the best for network applications?
Thanks for any help/suggestions.
ttyl, greg
