Indeed.
The 'Visual' refers to the style of the Integrated
Development Environment interface, which is very nice, but
is not, in and of itself, a necessity in creating a Windows
program.
I would suggest, for API programming in Win'95, that the
programmer might enjoy the availability of a copy of
Programming Windows 95 - ( The Definitive Developer's
Guide to the Windows 95 API )

There are also API wrappers, such as OWL and MFC, which
