JM> Hi All,
JM> Does anyone out there have the Modification for the Cels for
the
JM>Pro-46 Handheld. I've been looking around, but can't seem to find them
JM>anywhere.
Sure do John, A couple of my friends have the unit, and I just
downloaded the file to one today.
I'll give you the short and curly version.
1 dissaemble scanner as usual.
2 gently pry both boards apart.
3 carefully unsolder copper covered shield
4 locate 2 jumpers marked "0"
5 cut them.
Now, a little hint, I don't know which gives full 800 access and which
changes stepping from 12.5 to 30, but you may want to figure it out.
Reason. Cell phone monitoring gets awfully boring after a whole.
Being a dual conversion scanner, it will sucumb to cell phone
interference when listening to 800mhz trunk or conventional freqs.
Leave the 12.5/30 kc jumper in place and program all your freqs in the
850-869 range 2 times the second I.F. (it will be in the manual)
lower than the published freq. This will allow you to rx the 800 meg
range freqs without being trounced buy cell phone images, as your freq
will actually be in the cell mobile, or input band, but you will rx the
image,or desired freq 2x second I.F.higher.
Or so the thoery goes.
Dan
