One way around a city getting picky on courier deliveries is have
absolutely everything that can be, sent by mail.
Actually, one thing you could do if you do receive a lot of mail
is ask the post office about putting a mailman's lock say on your
front porch door so they can just dump packages or bags of mail
in the porch and the juvenile delinquents can't get the stuff.
Another solution to mail delivery is a post office box but then
you have to go visit the box to clear it out, preferably daily.
My office supplies dealer will deliver but for what they charge
they should send stuff over in a chauffeur driven rolls royce.
tip:
If you find you use a lot of say copier paper or even typing
paper, look in the yellow pages for a paper merchant who usually
sells to the printing trade.
Some will sell cash and carry at fabulous prices and you can say
be sending out your letters on really nice looking paper for less
than the cheap stuff costs at the corner stationery store.
Envelopes can also be a big item to save money on if you buy
either a box or a few boxes ata time.
Do be realistic in your consemption though and don't buy a ten
year supply of envelopes just because they were a good deal.
Sometimes a group of businesses can get together and buy common
supplies in bulk and save a fortune.
I do not print much these days, so can afford to send my
correspondence out on very nice rag content paper.
Some of it looks good enough to print money on because it is what
stock certificates are printed on. You can also get matching
envelopes but be prepared for the price. Can really impress
clients though.
Although, when you get down to it, those little brown envelopes
from the phone and electric companies do get your attention!
... I'd rather ride the Wave than wallow in QWKsand!
