CB> Great, after stating what businesses can do to set standards for
CB> educators
Different types of businesses need _different_ skills from new employees.
A bookkeeper hiring another assistant needs more math skills in that HS grad
than a plumber does, and either need more math skills than an employer hiring
a bulldozer operator.
CB> not from business - most educators I know are quite familiar with
CB> what most
CB> businesses need in the way of employees.
Again, different businesses need very different skill levels in different
skill areas for new hires.
There is no "one size fits all" standard for what is needed in a new
entry-level hire! Spelling and writing skills are more needed for
secretaries than for bulldozer operators and carpenters, even though all
these jobs are typically held by HS grads without a degree from a 4-year
college.
