Thus quoth the Raven ...
MT> Sorry, Colin and John but both Buddy Holly and the Monkees are
MT> off-topic for this Prog Rock echo...

DM> So, are you sidestepping the issue of whether Fred Astaire
DM> is Prog, or, by implication leaving him on topic?
Neither. The subject simply has to be brought up before I can nix or okay
it. I've tried the "if it ain't prog, it ain't on topic" attack, but you've
seen where that has gotten me. But here it is, official like:
Fred Astaire is OFF-TOPIC for this echo.
I feel better. That needed to be said.
DM> I believe he wrote a song on a Tony Bennett album I've got,
DM> but I don't know if he ever worked with Dave Stewart.
P'rhaps not, but he's probably linked to Bruford in some way. I pity the
fool who figures it out, though.
DM> On that subject, I dropped into Record Head last week (fortunately
DM> it wasn't payday) and saw lots of things I'd only read about,
DM> like Khan's _Space Shanty
Was this on vinyl? If so, how much were they wanting for this? Is it a
Decca or Brain copy? I'd be interested if it's vinyl, if not too terrible
much. Udderwise, never you mind.
DM> I escaped with Zappa's _Yellow Shark_ for $8
I'm envious. I haven't found this anywhere but new at $15 or so. Great
album, so I may have to eventually pay full ticket.
DM> Lastly, I think Kenneth mentioned the prominent fish on the
DM> Moody Blues' _Caught Live + 5_ LP, but in case he hasn't, you
DM> oughta add this one to your collection.
No, I don't recollect that he has. I've seen the LP (ages ago) but don't
remember the fish. I'll add to the list and keep an eye peeled. Thanks for
the tip!
Mike
