Hungary fined after track invasion (15-Oct-98) - Organisers of the Hungarian Grand Prix have been fined one million US dollars after this years track invasion following the Grand Prix on August 16. 750,000 dollars of the fine has been suspended and will only be payable if there is a repeat of this year's crowd problems in the next two years. However, Hungary's place on the '99 calendar is far from assured. The World Motor Sport Council will decide the fate of Hungary's place on the calendar at their meeting in December. Organisers will have had to have been given a complete plan detailing how the organiser will prevent a track invasion, including a police report, before the race is finalised. --- Msged/386 4.20 beta 4* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/728.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
