I guess it depends on where you are. I think around
here it is one piece of paper that the sheriff signs
and sends to the county commission. They staple it to
a form and send it all to the insurance company. That
is if no other car is involved and the wreck was a
result of 'work'.
A couple of years ago the city and county together
wreck four cars which is close to half of them. As you
can guess it was a bad year. Luckily all four cars
were scheduled to be replaced in the next fiscal year.
So all that was lost was the money the county would
have gotten from their sale at auction, which is never
much.
