Schumacher's championship lost?

(1-Nov-98) - Michael Schumacher stalled at the start of the Japanese Grand
Prix forcing a re-start in which the German will have to start from the
back of the grid, effectively ending his championship challenge.

Schumacher's engine at the second start after Jarno Trulli stalled at the
first start.

The shocked look on the double world champion's face said it all. As he put
his F300 into gear it crept forward several inches and the engine died,
before the lights had gone out to signal the start.

Schumacher had spent time prior to the season finale practising starts.
