I was Born & Raised in South Bend, and THAT car was destined to be a classic
from rollout. I have since moved from South Bend, but about 8 years ago they
were still hand making them there. I toured the factory, and was impressed
with the people that built them, however, NOT impressed with the marketing
department. They have since closed that factory, and I believe they now still
make them in Ohio. They are 100% hand assembled, and were rolled around on
carts. The Avanti is a fine car. Wish I had one.
AB> Listings through to 1985, with South Bend Indiana as place

A couple of years ago, they had a dealership here in Louisiana (New Iberia) I
have not heard if they are still in business today. NICE car, poor marketing.
