Everything is not under full control during the operation. There's very little
talk about the times things go wrong ... my daughter can tell stories about
incompetent gynaecologists...

Hogwash.
 
Because of good medical care babies carried to full term are now bigger and
bigger, there's just so much that can go through the pelvic opening.
 
Second reason is that docters can charge more for a Ceasarian section.
 
Third is it is becoming fashionable for women ... no scar tissue etc ... but
the baby is missing out on some hormones and special vitamins essential for
infants. For example Vitamin-K.
 
The statistical proof to make that statement is largely absent.
