JT> Oh, he had to go over a speed hump, but that's only a minor point. PE> How come I didn't hear any reports of a hit-and-run in Redfern? JT> Fuck the media. He didn't run out and tell the media, because JT> running over people is against the law. The boongs didn't tell JT> the media because breaking private property with a brick with JT> intent to mug people is against the law. JT> I can tell you a few more stories about people who have broken JT> the law to save themselves or their property which makes the JT> above boong case seem like a slap-on-the-wrist offence. The local cops have even been know to tell people very unambiguously indeed what to do. Presumably they are rather selective about who they say it to, and would deny they ever said it if it ever came to the crunch. JT> The media only tells the story if it is likely to sell JT> the paper and the person(s) who get convicted deserve it. Its more complicated than that. Its been quite interesting to watch just what local stuff does make the national media and what does not. Presumably most of its just the usual gross incompetence and it being just too much hassle to chase it up most of the time. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 624 @PATH: 711/934 |
